>kicking dead whales down the beach
This soykaf makes posts hard to read, especially for new users, since they have no way to know what this is about.
Swapping should just put asterisks, like "f**k", etc.

>This soykaf
Hggghghghgghh!!!!

  No.12679

No. That would be like kicking dead whales down the beach.

  No.12685

I always marvelled at those massive creatures and how they swim, as if floating in this infinite blue abyss.

kicking them down the beach is like kicking dead whales down the beach though

long reply

  No.12723

This really is terrible. The fuarrrk and soykaf ones don't change the word count and so don't interrupt your chain of thought, but changing one word to SEVEN makes no sense at all.

Why was this filter implemented in the first place? It's not for a curse word, it's just "holds up spork" random nonsense.

It's imageboard tradition to have language enhancers like these. I think it's amusing, especially when it confuses new users.

  No.12725

I still didn't figure out what it means exactly. Useless?

  No.12733

>>12725
it means it s-u-c-ks

this s-u-c-k-s= this is like kicking dead whales down the beach

  No.12735

I like the language enhancements. They've been around for a long time, and they're part of the established lainchan culture now.

>Describes a slow, difficult, and disgusting process. First popularized by a famous quote about the difficulty of getting work done under one of IBM's mainframe OSes. “Well, you could write a C compiler in COBOL, but it would be like kicking dead whales down the beach.”

(from the Jargon File)

I picked up most of the filters from lurking, but I've still never got the Present Day one from context.

I hate this f u c k i n g soykaf too. Soykaf is easy to understand, but the rest just disrupts the flow of reading. It can seriously make reading some posts really f u c k i n g annoying.

  No.13176

If the 5 or so filters that are in use make the place too hard to use, you might as well consider finding another place. This is not your comfort zone, make some effort. Thank you.

And yet when people suggest removing /feels/, lainons come out and defend /feels/ with the "comfy" argument. Make up your mind, lainons.
