I think this is a book everyone should read.

I disagree. Most people who don't read and/or aren't really intellectually predisposed are going to read it literally and won't understand anything other than the first intention of it.

It's like this for every piece of art.

Doesn't matter. It's a personal experience, what people think of it is entirely up to them and it shouldn't be any other way.

my mother used to read me this when i was four, i bareley remember it, im going to read it now.
thanks lainon

Attempts by my school teachers to introduce it to me have made me extremely repugnant to even look into it.

One of my favorites book for sure. I love how it reads differently as you gradually grow older. I'm trying to read it in French now to keep my language skills sharp

As someone who begrudgingly did the school readings, re-read this one. It's really short (you can finish it in well under an hour), and you get a lot out of it.

It's a really unique book and I really think you'll enjoy it. But again, you don't need to do it, just a friendly suggestion

I think It's safe to say that everybody here has read it.
But I haven't read it in a couple years, I should read it again.

That was beautiful, thank you for sharing this OP. I had never heard of this story before.
