This thread is for science and math related reading material. Textbooks, journals, and peer-reviewed articles are preferred.

I'll start with some classics.

what is a nice book for ordinary differential equations?
I was told that the one by Tenenbaum and Pollard is nice but I was looking for something more "condensate" that I can also use as reference book

the book you mentioned is about a good a reference as they come for ODEs, not only for it's price but also for the coverage and depth of material on offer.

I really like the idea of a science board on lainchan.

Posting as a test and because biological sciences need love too.

here is a small sampling from my library.

I have thousands of texts on a variety of topics. I have not read even 10% of them. Maybe 75 of the over 5000 i have. I am working on reading one per month. Hopefully lain will accept this as a satisfactory offering.

some more for the lovely lains. Please make science board a permanent feature. Ill dump my science related materials here.

that will be all for now fellow lains.

So excited for this board. Gonna dump a couple classics.

>Rudin's Principles of Mathematical Analysis
I love those books that don't have too much discourse, they mostly just state "THEOREM: ..." and "PROOF: ...". To the point.

Sorry my mobile phone was repaired and they wiped all of it i only have some good german ones, tomorrow i search for some in english, i should have a lot on my harddrive

>Maybe 75 of the over 5000 i have
How do you manage your books?

mostly via my calibre library and appropriate naming conventions for my folder lol

Do you download magazines like Science, Nature, and so on?

What is a recommended book for a math major to learn classical physics? I have like calc 1/2/3, linear algebra, complex analysis etc already done, so I want a book that assumes all mathematical knowledge

Maybe University Physics?

File: 1488133319142-0.png (11.02 MB, 200x200, Sakurai, Napolitano - Modern Quantum Mechanics.pdf)

Some texts I found useful as I was going through undergrad.

File: 1488134199937-0.png (1.3 MB, 200x200, QED,The Strange Theory of Light and Matter - R. Feynman.djvu)

And here I might have figured out how to actually post multiple files.

Or I can conhinue to fail at posting Marion and Thornton's Classical Dynamics of Particles and Systems.

I need some math books. I want to learn HS stuff before moving to calculus and so on.
Does Precalculus books cover all HS soykaf?

In my experience American precalc is basically the greatest hits of high school Algebra and Trig, but your mileage may vary.

I started with Randall Knight which really helped
Though I was a second year student in high school when I started, so it might not be what you're looking for exactly
