I want to talk with you about how cybernetics and technology is attacking us and our future. So before we start i recommend to read this https://capulcu.blackblogs.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/54/2015/12/BandII-enbooklet.pdf first. I think its the best way to synchronize ourselfes to go in a discussion.

The big question is how we fight against it and how we raise more attention about it.

Interesting grounds for a discussion, if you'd like to read something a little more succinct than what OP posted oriented towards big data specifically check out the essays here > http://idlewords.com/talks/ in particular you might enjoy "Haunted by data" and "Deep Fried Data"

Personally I think people will adopt an alternative that respects their freedom if it is made attractive enough.

Manufacturing FOSS alternatives could lead to a quickening effect along the lines of what the unabomber described in his manifesto; tech companies rely on constant growth to keep their investors satisfied, if they experience even a momentary decline in their user base, the investors WILL lose confidence in big data.

Widespread circulation of articles like > http://business.time.com/2012/08/07/do-facebook-ads-work/ and other information exposing targeted advertising could have a chilling effect on the ad industry and consequently on the revenue streams of companies like google and facebook.

I found another really good (scientific) paper about how targeted ads and big data was a giant fuarrrking fugazi, but I can't find it anywhere.

Remember the first dot-com boom and bust? A second one is coming, soon. All it'll take is a catastrophic leak (like the one yahoo had) to shake investor confidence and before long all the rats will start jumping ship, when the tree falls the monkeys follow.

Also I hate that if I feel uncomfortable with the invasiveness of big data, I have to ascribe to some sort of commie philosophy where I have to read about marx in a soykafty zine. I don't hate capitalism or the free market, and the best thing we can do right now to fight big data is vote with our wallets. Don't upgrade to windows 10, don't buy a cellphone, pirate everything, don't use amazon, shop local, don't use facebook, you don't need to be a fuarrrking marxist or a socialist to do these things.

RIP Joseph Weizenbaum

You're experiencing what's referred to as "cognitive dissonance". One moment you delude yourself with liberal platitudes like "voting with your wallet" and the next you are breaking the laws your liberal society (with the support of capitalist lobbyists) have passed by pirating.

We need to translate anarcho-syndicalism into the cyber-age. P2P social network.

Culture Jamming.

Good talks about this subject:

A-Syndicalism is bullsoykaf for me, though. Just because Chomsky support it, this doesn't mean it's a sane political-social-economic model.
